Whit took off a total of 4 days between delivery and when we brought the babies home. The babies were on a great schedule and I had tons of family and friends stopping by. I really felt like I had it together but felt really emotional. It's funny, I think everyone has a little ppd but I felt it when they were born and then again when we brought them home. My friends were incredible. Whit was incredible.
We needed to hire a nanny. Someone to keep them while I made the transition to go back to work. I interviewed dozens and as they described keeping my miracle babies as "fun, cool & neat... I rolled my eyes. No one who giggled about taking care of three infants on monitors was keeping my babies.
Then a friend of mine suggested I call a girl who had been a nanny for a sweet family in town for two years. She was looking for something as the mom of the family wanted to spend more time with her kids. I called Alissa. We met and she started the following week.
I don't have all the answers and have made mistakes along the way. But, Alissa, has been my very best decision so far.
We spent the next weeks taking pictures of them and adjusting to our new life. When I say the time has flown by... It's like it was July and they were coming home and now it's cold and they have teeth. I don't want to forget one minute of this good time.
