2011 in photos day 27

Our weekends took on a very different meaning. No more entertaining at our house and getting out was a five alarm fire ;) The sheer preparation to go anywhere was something else.

However, the fall brought outdoor fun and a little getaway to Dallas for us. We went to Dallas cattle-barons ball in october. We made it to a few BU games too!

Whit works 6 days and is off on Saturdays so we usually stay home with the babies all day Saturday. Sometimes we go eat breakfast at homestead. In the beginning we would run errands and they would sleep but once they reached about 4 months they were no longer on our schedule. They demanded their cribs and sound machine for their scheduled naps. They started needing less support for their heads and started standing with our help. They all put on a ton of weight and they started staying awake more and sleeping less. They still slept a ton but were more predictable as to when.

We started to feel ok about leaving them. We trusted and still only trust a handful and really need to find more sitters. It's hard feeling like anyone can handle three at once and feeling confident in that.

2011 in photos day 26

We started walking the week after they got home. Exercise was a must. In the months to follow I learned if I didn't walk in the evenings I was more tired and more grouchy.

As you can see we've taken a ton of pics. Cliche, but I don't want to forget one hold, one moment or the way they looked at one particular stage. When I pull these up, I notice I've already forgotten some days.

We were on the cover of the November Waco Today. Celebrities ;) ha the babies slept through most of it. I was sweating and the final picture I looked like a sweaty mess but the joy on my face mirrored the joy in my heart.

That Taylor Swift song plays over and over in my head " oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up, just stay this little.
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple"

My babies love love love the moby. They loved that cradled position and they now love the leg out position. We took them everywhere and if I knew now how much easier they were to take an pop in those mobys we would have gone even more! BU games, out to dinner, lunch... They wanted to sleep in moby. Sweet loves, miss it.

2011 in photos day 24

We stayed in for over two months so I guess other than going to family dinners at homes we didn't leave the house until they were almost 4 months old. Lots of sleeping on their schedule. We also took a few nights out just to be a married couple. It took time to understand that we could do both and we could do it pretty well! I think we had to work into a routine just as much as they did. I still can't believe the changes that take place in just weeks. Every time I scroll through my picture folder I think, "oh that's when he started making that cooing sound or that's when she rolled over" might only have been 6 weeks but feels like 6 months! Every bath, every playtime, every moment... I could eat it with a spoon.
